Come celebrate local filmmakers and films that are anything but ordinary! Music in a barbershop, Leftover Salmon in Telluride, and aliens in dreams. Films that defy expectations and take you to an- other world. It’s always fun to see a movie that was shot in your town! You’ll love the award-winning short, “Happy F’ing Valentine’s Day” filmed at the Black Forest restaurant. Come take a surreal “Ex- pedition”, filmed in Indian Peaks. Catch an Oscar-winner you may have missed; “The Cove”– featuring footage shot by local filmmaker, Eric Abramson. Share a crazy ride along “The Trail of Kezbegi” w/some Boulder mountain bikers in the Caucasus Mountains of Russia! You’ll get your groove on with Leftover Salmon, discover an Italian opera paired with a dinner of spaghetti and meatballs, and learn how music can be a bridge between race and religion. The Nederland Film Festival showcases 12 local films with 5 features and 21 short films. Submit To The Festival

We look forward to your Film Submission for 2017. Front Range Film Festival, Lyons Film Festival, and Nederland Film Festival celebrate Colorado filmmakers, as well as filmmakers around the world. Here’s to you. There would be no film festival without our talented filmmakers! We want to share your art with the world.

Rules & Terms:
Filmmakers must own the rights to their films, and by submitting, thereby grant the Nederland Film Festival the right to screen their film. All films must be in English (or subtitled in English). Digital submissions only. We don’t accept physical submissions (until requested). All entries will be pre-screened for eligibility, however, not all entries will be selected. The festival will not pay an exhibition fee for any accepted entries initially submitted through our general Call for Entries. LIFF may screen any accepted entries up to three times during the festival dates at any of our exhibition venues. Fee waivers will be granted on a case by case basis. Become A Festival Volunteer

The Nederland Festival needs you! We are seeking volunteers who share a commitment to the community, support the arts, and enjoy working with others. Volunteers may be the backbone of the Festival but they’re also at the forefront of the Festival. It’s you that ensure that our filmmakers and guests have a truly enjoyable experience. Join our crew! We are the face of the festival; in-the-know and on-the-go. You’ll get the inside scoop on what’s happening and where. Without you? There’s no festival and no fun! Help is needed before, during, and after the Festival. Internships for project-oriented tasks such as film research, database management, event planning, outreach, and archival work is available for 2018. These are part-time and unpaid positions (school credit may be available). Scheduling is flexible. Click here to join our Festival Family.

Friday, September 15th from 6-8pm: The Clockwork Collective is proud to host our Kickoff Party. For a sneak preview of the shorts screening at the Nederland Film Festival! Happy hour prices till 7pm.

7-9pm: Salto Coffee Works/Tin Shed Sports 112 E 2nd St, Nederland. Enjoy beverages and desserts while you browse the Film Festival program and purchase your Pass for the weekend of film screenings at the Backdoor Theatre.Free Admission.

Saturday, September 16, 5:30 – 6:30: Italian Night: Music and Dinner pairing with Mt Midlife. $10 Spaghetti and Meatball dinner. See a movie and have dinner all for $20

9-10pm: After Party at Very Nice Brewing House.
